At the Canadian Institute of Professional English Mongolia (CIPE MN) we naturally take into account the context in which we teach English langauge arts - the culture, the students of Mongolia.

What kind of teaching?

You need activities that distract attention away from the grammatical form and, instead, encourage a concern for meaningful interaction in English.

At CIPE MN we use Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), an innovation in English language teaching.

This means that not only will you learn the language (vocabulary, grammar, etc.), you will be also focusing on how you can actually use what you have learned in your life, be it is in your every day life, at work or university abroad.

We do this by using and appropriately adapting well-selected core materials, and involving lots of activities, such as role plays and games in General English, listening to and analyzing current affairs TV shows, movies, etc.

One student, from a Callan method school, reported having nightmares at first, but then getting used to the rapid fire, automated prompt-response routines. But opted to change to a more ‘serious’ school once she’d achieved a critical level of being constantly drilled.
